1-2-3-4 Come on Upward!!!!

Tulip is doing Cheerleading this year for Upward. Upward is a christian organization that does basketball and Cheer for kids k-6th grade. It is a way to teach kids about christ thru cheer or basketball. It isn't competive at all. Which is hard for me, but doing cheer you don't have to be competive. But I still want Tulip to work hard and do her best. I am helping coach the team, which might not have been the best idea because I am so hard her and expect so much from her. I see my dad every practice when I am yelling at her:) I don't think I will ever coach for her again. I think she would do a lot better having someone else as her coach.
Tulip is really enjoying cheering and also memorizing bible verses which is very important. So all in all it is a great program and I am glad that we are a part of it.
These pics are from her first couple of games. Atley is also learning a lot from Tulip practicing. It is really cute to see her high v, low v and broken t. I will have to make a video of it.

Hammer Hammer Build Build!!!

So After Tulip cheered on Saturday we went to Lowe's the girls got to make a tic-tac-toe game. It was a lot of fun and really easy. Tulip loves to hammer and do it all with little or no help. And Atley just likes to have the finished project:) They love going to these workshops. Lowe's has theirs every other week and Home Depot has one once a month. So they are going to become little carpenters.

Dinner in Seattle

Last Saturday Danny and I had a date night in Seattle with friends Cassie and Jeremy. (We were so blessed to have Cindy watch the girls again for us for free!!!) We were planning on taking the 4:15 ferry, but Cassie missed it because she was babysitting her niece. Danny was pissed and she was pissed and I was pissed that they were so pissed. So no one talked for like first 30 mins., while we waited for the 5:30 ferry. After We got on the ferry everything was fine and we were happy just be out:)
We ended up eating Ivar's restaurant on pier. They have a really good Happy from 3-close 7 days a week. So we ate and drank for really cheap. Then we went to couple of bars and visited. It was a really good night. I think we would have stayed later, but we had to take the 12:50 ferry home. Danny fell asleep on the ferry ride home and so did I:)
It was a great night. I am so happy that I have such a great friend that will watch my girls and that I feel comfortable leaving them with so Danny and I can have some us time:) Thank you Cindy you are the best!!!!

Hailee over for a sleep over.

Last Saturday Cindy watched the girls so Danny and I could have a date night with a FREE babysitter. So tonight is their night to go out:)
We had ate dinner. (Everyone, but Atley) She never eats!!!!) Than we played a game of monkeys on the bed. We only played for about 15 mins. Hailee didn't want to play anymore so we stopped. Tulip had the most tokens so she won the cup:) She was so excited because it was her first win.

Then we watch a movie and had popcorn and M&M's. Atley didn't get to have any because she didn't eat her dinner. She was ok with it as long as she was able to watch the movie.

The movie only lasted about 45 mins. Hailee wanted to go to bed because she was tired. It was only 7:30 and I was affraid that she would wake up to early. So we put in another movie and watched about 15 mins of it. Hailee said that she would let Tulip borrow the movie if she would go to bed. Tulip agreed so they are in bed. They are not asleep and I have been in there about 20 times!!!!  I just hope they fall asleep soon and don't get up before 7:30.

The Carter's loose the Cup to the vistors...

Mom and Angela came over for dinner tonight. She brought over pizza which was a nice surpise for me because I didn't have to cook:) Then after dinner we played a few games of Mickey Mouse yahtzee. Mom won the Carter Cup on the first game.

The second game Angela won!!!!

Then Ice cream:)

Mom and Angela left after ice cream. We played Candyland as a family. My first draw was princess frostline!!! ( Just in case you are wondering she is close to the end) We only had to go a few more rounds before I won the Cup:) The first time ever for me!!!! No one took my pic so I don't have one to post:( I guess no one was happy that I won. I thought Danny would because the game only took about 10 mins.

Thanks mom for bringing dinner and beating us in Yahtzee:)

Kindergarten for Tulip...

So... I have been really nervous about where Tulip should go to school next year.  I talked to Ms. Cambell at the Sycamore tree (where she goes to preschool) and she told me to go to a few schools to look around and meet with the kindergarten teachers. So Today while Atley was at pre-school Tulip and I went exploring.

The first school we went to was Crownhill. We walked in and I talked to the secretary about how I wanted to get a feel for the school. She was kind of a B and just looked at me while I talked. Than she asked me where I live. I told her and she said that that is within the Crownhill school ditrict! Duh! She was so rude about it and said she would have to go there. NOT TRUE. I kind of wanted to punch her in the face, but didn't because i had Tulip with me. She gave me a list of the Kindergarten teachers and said that if I wanted to see the classes I would have to set a time with the teachers... Which is fine, but it would have been nice to just walk in unexpected.

I asked her if she could give us a tour which she was semi-happy to do. It kind of reminds of Mountain View, with pods, but on a very smaller scale. All the same grades are together. The older kids up-stairs which is nice. Then the library and the computer lab, gym, and lunch room. It was a quick visit, but glad that we went.

Then we went over to Naval Avenue. They have a few programs that I am interested there. A spanish imersion class k-5. And a Montessori k-3. So we met in the Montessori class which was a very calming atmoshere about 22 kids in the class when they are all there and at least 2 teachers at a time. Which is great one on one. The head teacher wasn't there, but I got to talk to the asst. while Tulip played with kids. We came in during lunch/recess time. Which was perfect. I was very happy with this class and would really love Tulip to go there, but the only concerns I have is the cost and if they are learning everything that she is supposed to learn.

So after meeting with them Tulip and I were walking back to the car and I asked her what school she would want to go to. She said "the one with the Computers because you don't let me use yours:)"  Thats Crownhill.

At dinner tonight I was going over all this with Danny and he is certain that she is going to Crownhill. That is  where we both went and he swears by it. He is so stubborn so that is where she will probably go. I just want the best for her and for her to be safe.

I don't think I am ready to let my little girl go in the big world of public school:( I just don't understand where the last 5 years went with her. I hear once they start school it just goes faster:(

I will keep you updated on where we deciede to send her or where Danny tells me she is going:) The good thing about this is she is SOO EXCITED!!! Now if I could be that excited or half that excited it would be perfect:)

New to the Blog World...

Hello Blog World!!!!!
I want our Family Blog to very Honest. In our Family pic you see a some-what perfect family. (The mom could lose a few pounds the dad could lose a few pounds and the little girl in front could look at the camera.) Other than that it would be a perfect. But what you don't see is the yelling and the fighting that took place before the pic was taken. (I would love to make an audio Christmas card so you can see what is really going on behind the scenes.) We are just like every other family we have our ups and downs, but one thing remains the same WE LOVE EACH OTHER.
Anyway this blog is going to be about our family. We aren't perfect, but we love God and love each other.
I hope you all enjoy it as much as I love reading yours.
Love The 1950's Housewife:)
